| Thallus ash-white, thin, smooth, dull. Ascomata conspicuous, black, sessile, scattered, straight or curved, rarely branched, 1–4 mm long, (0.15–) 0.25–0.50 mm wide, with a well-defined thalline margin; lips initially closed, opening to expose an epruinose or very lightly pruinose epihymenium. Proper exciple laterally carbonised. Hymenium 100–150 µm thick, inspersed. Ascospores 8 per ascus, irregularly biseriate, transversely (10–) 12 (–16)-locular, (35–) 45–60 (–70) × 6–8 (–10) µm, I+ blue-violet. CHEMISTRY: Norstictic acid. |
